The day of Arafat

The 9th day of Dhul- Hijjah is the day of Arafah. Dhul - Hijjah is period of 10 days before eid, it is also the time for Hajj( muslim pilgrimage). Since on he day of Arafah muslims gather at the mountain plain of Arafah (place in Saudi Arabia), praying and supplicating to thier lord. 

Arafah was the day on which Allah perfected his religion, completed his favours on his beloved Prophet (SAW) and approved Islam as a way of life. 

It is reported by Abu Hurairah RA that the Prophet PBUH said: 

" The promised day is the day of resurrection, the witnessed day is the day of Arafah, and the witnessing day is friday."

It is also significant because the following aayat was revealed on the evening on the day of Arafah on a friday: 

"This day I have perfected for you, your religion and completed my favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as a religion."

The Prophet SAW also said :

" There is no day on which Allah frees people from the Fire more so than the day of Arafah. He comes close to those people( people standing on Arafah) and then He reveals before  his angels  , "What are these people seeking."

This day will be celebrated on 19th July , 2021 in Gulf countries but in our India it will be observed on 20th July , 2021. It is also advised to fast on the day of Arafah. People who fast on the day of Arafah are much more beloved to Allah compared to those who don't. This day is a blessing that Allah the almighty has given us all to wipe our sins and get close to the Allah almighty. May He bless our souls.
